Ashanti Learning Circle (6th Grade)

Jambo (hello) and Welcome to the Ashanti Learning Circle of Nsoroma Institute

The Ashanti Learning Circle has gotten off to a great start.  For those of you who may not know me, I am Mama Hanifa Kasiya Adjuman aka Tonja Adjuman.  I am the former Serer (third grade) Learning Circle mwalimu (teacher).  This year I have been promoted to sixth grade ;-), and the wonderful part is, my sixth grade students are my former third grade students--therefore, no adjustment period needed!  I will be teaching Social Studies and Language Skills.

I have many exciting learning experiences planned for our watoto (children).  It is imperative that we--mwalimu and parents--work together to create a rich and rewarding learning experience for our watoto.  This goal can only be accomplished if we create an atmosphere in which our watoto recognize that there exists a school to home continuum whereby the expectation of both mwalimu (teacher) and parents is of one accord--an expection of excellence.
